Qualifying begins today at 8 a.m. at the Huntington Beach Pier for the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Cuervo Gold Crown Huntington Beach Open, the first stop in Southern California this year for the AVP Crocs Tour.

Tramblie helps team upset No. 2 seeds in Charleston
CHARLESTON, S.C. — Ty Tramblie, a Newport Harbor High product, and his teammate Mike Morrison upset the No. 2-seeded team of John Hyden and Brad Keenan at the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Charleston Open Thursday.
