Sailors win flip to earn lone home playoff date
The Newport Harbor High boys’ volleyball team won a coin flip and will play host to Santa Margarita Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the CIF Southern Section Division I semifinals.

May-Treanor, Walsh win AVP Miami Open
MIAMI, Fla. — Newport Harbor High product Misty May-Treanor and partner Kerri Walsh picked up where they left off last season, winning the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals’ first tour stop of the season Sunday to split $20,000.

As the Assn. of Professionals Volleyball tour kicks off in Miami this weekend, it also marks the start of Olympic Watch 2008 for beach volleyball fans.
